Study Buddhism!

Nalandabodhi Seattle and Nitartha Institute are offering several study options this fall.

A new Thursday class begins Oct. 10 exploring the practice of lojong, or mind training. Nick Vail, a longtime student of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, will host an informal book discussion group on Training the Mind and Cultivating Loving-Kindness, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s commentary on the classical 59 lojong (mind training) slogans. Sessions will include sitting meditation, songs of realization and good conversation about the meaning of these pithy and profound teachings.   All are welcome; donations welcome.

Curious about Buddhism? Introduction to Buddhism is a 16-week cycle of Wednesday teachings on introductory and foundational Buddhist topics. We explore the basic principles of Buddhism and lay the foundation for deeper studies on the views of different Buddhist schools. This series began Wednesday, September 4, 2019 and students can  choose to enroll or attend on a drop-in basis.

Want to deepen your knowledge about Buddhism, consciousness, and awareness? Nitartha Institute presents BUD 501 Mind & Its World I: Valid Cognition at Nalanda West starting Wednesday, Sept. 25.
