In all activities train with slogans
– Atisha, Slogan 9
A new Thursday class explores the practice of lojong, or mind training, from Oct. 10 through Dec. 19.
Atisha (980-1052 CE) was an Indian adept who brought to Tibet a systematized approach to loving-kindness and bodhicitta, the desire to awaken for the sake of all sentient beings, through working with his 59 lojong slogans.
Nick Vail, a longtime student of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, will host the informal book discussion group on Training the Mind and Cultivating Loving-Kindness, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s commentary on Atisha’s classical slogans.
Sessions will include sitting meditation, songs of realization and good conversation about the meaning of these pithy and profound teachings.
All are welcome; attendance is by donation.
