Sunday Teachings by Acharya Tashi on the Third Karmapa’s Aspiration Prayer of Mahamudra

Acharya Tashi Wangchuk, the resident teacher at Nalanda West, will offer virtual teachings on the Mahamudra Aspiration by the Third Karmapa on Sundays from Oct. 25 through Dec. 13.  (No teaching will be offered Nov. 15.)

This text is among the most treasured teachings in the Kagyu lineage, capturing the essential points of the view, practice and fruition of Mahamudra practice.  In it, the Third Karmapa — Rangjung Dorje — shows how to recognize our ultimate potential as a buddha.

Rangjung Dorje (1284–1339) was a scholar of fabled erudition. He mastered texts and teachings across sectarian boundaries, wrote treatises on medicine and astrology, built monasteries and was spiritual advisor to the last Yuan emperor. He is considered one of the most important and influential figures in Tibetan Buddhist history.
