Lujong: Body-Training Workshop - Nalandabodhi Seattle

Lujong: Body-Training Workshop

Lujong means “body” plus “training, refinement, or purification” in Tibetan. In Nalandabodhi, this set of 15 movements devised by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche is recommended as part of one’s path by Dzoghcen Ponlop Rinpoche.

It is an adaptable method to increase energy and pliancy of body and mind, regardless of your practice and physical condition. This workshop is also a good opportunity to learn and practice lujong in advance of our annual sangha retreat, where lujong sessions usually are practiced at the start of each day.

Stephanie Johnston will lead this three-hour workshop. She will describe lujong in the context of practical application to our Buddhist path, with step by step guidance through each movement (including time for questions and adjustments). Participants should emerge with an understanding of the practice, coupled with the confidence, materials and know-how to incorporate it into their lives.

This workshop is for Nalandabodhi members of any age and energy level. Just bring your interest and wear something comfortable. (Due to the necessarily interactive nature of this program, registration is limited to 21 people. If there is demand, the workshop can be offered again.)

Stephanie Johnston, a long-time student of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, was authorized as an instructor many years ago within Nalandabodhi and has continued her engagement with lujong and its variations until the present. She has an abiding interest in exploring skillful methods described in the Science of Creativity; lujong is one of them.
