Nalanda West is a contemplative center dedicated to the cultivation of 21st century Buddhism. Here we ask big questions with compassion and curiosity. Through meditation we get to know our minds so that we can be kinder and more balanced, better able to meet the challenges of these times.

As the sangha in residence at Nalanda West, Nalandabodhi Seattle offers open meditation, dharma talks, meditation instruction, Buddhist study courses, and more!
Looking for space with genuine presence? Nalanda West offers comfortable and affordable spaces for meetings, workshops, classes, banquets or speaking events.
We also offer space for special occasions such as weddings, commitment ceremonies, memorial services or similar events.Â
Mahabodhi Shrine Room
This vaulted, spacious second floor room accommodates 220 people. Large windows cover the north and south walls. The main event space is carpeted and includes a stage and foyer. Full AV system in house with speakers, HD video cameras, microphones, professional recording & webcasting.
Vajra Spot
This intimate, well -lit space accommodates 50 people. Â This carpeted room includes a sink and staging area for tea set up. Full AV setup with speakers, cameras, microphones and streaming capabilities.
Community Room & Kitchen
This first floor room is situated just off the main entrance lobby and accommodates 120 people. This space includes a stage and connects to the large kitchen which makes it great for dining, meetings, parties and receptions. Rectangular and round tables are available for various configurations. AV system available for microphones and music.
A full size kitchen with commercial dish washer, fridge and pantry is available for caterers to stage and prep for banquets. Dishes, cutlery and serving items are also rentable. Kitchen cooking use is possible on a limited basis.
