Open Heart Circle: Building Peace, Contentment, and Community from the Inside Out
Last Friday of each month
12-1p
In these tumultuous times, the practice of sitting meditation, can help to establish a modicum of inner peace. With our own minds stabilized, we can start to cultivate contentment and begin to work to benefit the greater community of sentient beings.
Open Heart Circle is a chance to cultivate inner and outer peace. Shamatha (calm abiding) meditation and the Open Heart Circle liturgy (including tonglen practice) are components of each session. Anyone who is touched by suffering in the world is welcome. There will be an opportunity within the practice to light candles and dedicate prayers, especially for the ill and the recently deceased.
Following the practice period, community is invited to gather in the Community Room for quiet conversation, tea, and co-working.
Schedule
12:00–1:00p Open Heart Circle in the Mahabodhi Shrine Room (upstairs)
1:00–3:00p Co-Working in the Community Room (downstairs)
