Losar is a traditional time for Nalandabodhi to come together as a community, practice the dharma, make offerings and aspirations, and renew our bonds of fellowship with one another.
We will begin our celebration of the new year transition with traditional protector practices on February 17th, 18th, and 19th. On each of these days, our Acharyas and Lamas will lead Mahakala practice in Tibetan followed by English language protector practice. Mitra Dean Tyler Dewar has graciously agreed to give a short introduction to this practice at the beginning of the first English session at 5:30 pm Pacific on February 17th with translation into Spanish, and French. Chinese and Portuguese translations are to be determined in the next days.
Our main Losar practice with chanting of liturgies will be held on Tuesday, February 21st with a smoke puja, a purification and accumulation of merit and wisdom practice, at Nalanda West at 6:30 am.
The English liturgy practice will follow at 8 am Pacific time, as will a Losar address from one of our senior teachers, which will be available on Zoom or on-site at Nalanda West in Seattle.
For both the Pre-Losar and Losar practices, Nalandabodhi Seattle Sangha members should look for the email with information about registration to receive the Zoom link or attending on-site.
