This week on Wednesday, July 14 we commemorate the First Turning of the Wheel of the Dharma by celebrating Chokhor Duchen. After his enlightenment, the Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths to his disciples at the Deer Park in Sarnath, India. This is the third of four “great occasions” or duchens that mark events in the life and teachings of the Buddha Shakyamuni. Please join us for a short liturgy and shamatha meditation at 7:00 pm PT to celebrate this special day.
