The Vajrayana tradition is a special sub-tradition within the broader school of Mahayana, which holds as its primary aim the accomplishment of the welfare and happiness of all sentient beings, culminating in the state of buddhahood.

During this teaching session, Mitra Tyler will present a general overview of the distinguishing features of the Vajrayana tradition and of ̉one particular facet of this tradition, namely the practice of invoking and making offerings to a group of enlightened beings referred to as “protectors.” This talk will aim especially to be helpful to those who are new to the Vajrayana tradition and who may be interested in attending the pre-Losar protector chant gatherings on February 8, 9, and 10.

Nalandabodhi members of all practice levels are warmly invited to attend.
