In all activities train with slogans
– Atisha, Slogan 9
A new Thursday class explores the practice of lojong, or mind training, from Oct. 10 through Dec. 19.
Atisha (980-1052 CE) was an Indian adept who brought to Tibet a systematized approach to loving-kindness and bodhicitta, the desire to awaken for the sake of all sentient beings, through working with his 59 lojong slogans.
Nick Vail, a longtime student of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, hosts this informal book discussion group on Training the Mind and Cultivating Loving-Kindness, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s commentary on Atisha’s classical slogans.
Sessions include sitting meditation, songs of realization and good conversation about the meaning of these pithy and profound teachings.
All are welcome; attendance is by donation.
