Exploring the Instructions on Śamatha and Vipaśyanā

A Series of Talks at Nalanda West, Spring 2024

During this series of Sunday talks at Nalanda West, beginning on March 31, 2024, Mitra Tyler Dewar will share an exploration of some of the practice lineages’ deeper instructions on śamatha (calm abiding) and vipaśyanā (special insight), the two main pathways of the journey of meditation. Based on the presentations of the great nineteenth century master Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye and others, the talks will aim to provide enough philosophical background to help attendees connect with certainty and confidence in their meditation practice, as well as a dash of experiential inspiration in connection with our teachers’ and lineage masters’ encouragement to discover awakening within this very mind of ours right now.

All are welcome!
