A weekend with Jim Scott

Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche is renowned the world over for his masterful presentation of songs of realization. Through his explanation of the songs of the great Tibetan Yogi, Milarepa, and other masters, as well as in songs he himself has spontaneously composed, Rinpoche clarifies the methods that serve as maps for the path to personal fulfillment.

On close examination, the songs surprisingly turn out to contain practical instructions for dealing with difficulties we all face, pinpointing how illness, emotional stress, confusion and countless everyday challenges need not be the obstacles they tend to be but can serve our own development and aid us in benefiting others.

Jim Scott, who has been a student of Khenpo Rinpoche since he arrived in the West in 1977, has translated many of these songs into English from their original Tibetan and, at Rinpoche’s bidding has composed melodies bringing their profound meaning right into ordinary experience.

Jim will share the explanations, even playing video recordings of Rinpoche himself giving the explanation, and yes, Jim will also lead us in singing these incredible songs.
